I would like to kindly invite you to participate in the fourth edition of Poznań Vetetrinary Forum. The main topic of this conference is focused on advances in management of swine and cattle herds’ health, which enables maximisation of productivity and increase of farms competitiveness. The list of organizers comprises among others the Institute of Veterinary at Poznań University of Life Sciences, Wielkopolski Provincial Veterinary Inspector, Polish Society of Veterinary Sciences – Wielkopolski Division, and company BASKO Aleksander Skoracki. The scope of the duties of veterinarians taking care of cattle and swine herds significantly changed in the past decades. The current trends developed by veterinarians and farmers have led not only towards achievement of the highest possible health status of individual animals but also towards constant maintenance of the high health status of the herds. Healthy herd guarantees high productivity and competitiveness of the farm on the global market. The programme of this edition of Poznań Veterinary Forum was specifically developed to give the participants an overview of recent advances in scientific research presented during lectures, and to up-date the methods and practical interventions during workshops. Invited speakers will present current data concerning emerging health problems in swine and bovine herds pointing out these aspects which must be mentioned in direct communication with animal owners. Poznań Veterinary Forum gives an exceptional chance to participate in lectures given by the world class specialists working on hot topics in swine and bovine production. Many of them will visit Poland for the first time. The following speakers confirmed their presence in this year’s Forum: Laura Batista (Canada/Mexico), Marek Gehrke (Poland), Martina Hoedemaker(Germany), Jędrzej Jaśkowski (Poland), Tommy van Limbergen (Belgium), Dominik Maes (Belgium), Rolf Mansfeld (Germany), Tanja Opriessnig (Scotland /USA), Zygmunt Pejsak (Poland), Tomasz Stadejek (Poalnd), Cinta Prieto Suárez (Spain), Kyoung Jin Yoon(USA).
